Myrtleford Men’s Shed Successful on a number of Fronts for Grants

President Neville indicated in his presidential report at the AGM that the Myrtleford Men’s Shed are very appreciative of Grants they have recent in recent times.

Current applications include "Community Facilities Grant" under Bush Fire Recovery to supplement monies for the roofing project.    Other successful grants include Victorian Government mens Shed Funding Program, Alpine Shire Community Grants to pay for Building permit fees for the proposed extension, and a Nelson Alexander Foundation Day grant and Whitehouse  Foundation,

"Stronger Communities Programme" via our local Indi Member Dr. Helen Haines was successful allowing us to carry out stage one of converting the open area at the rear of the shed by levelling and installing a concrete floor and foundations for future roofing.  We have again lodged an "expression of interest" with local member Helen Haynes for a round 2, Stronger Communities Grant.

The shed also applies for grants and courses relating to Health, and particularly Men’s Health.      First Aid course have been conducted, Mental Health First Aid, Defibrillator use training, "Spanner in the Works"

SAD NEWS

Recently we lost "Shed" artist Brian Elvish.     Brian generously painted approximately 45 Santas and elves that the shed let to local Myrtleford business' over the Christmas festive season.     Brian will be missed by the Ovens Valley community with his community involvement and his artistic skills.
